Film: Fuse

I’d completely forgotten what Fuse was about even a couple of weeks after seeing it, which tells you a lot. It’s a heist film built around a WWII bomb unearthed in central London, with the resulting evacuation used as cover for a bank robbery. So far, so promising.

The problem is the characters. Between the bomb‑disposal expert, the police chief, and the gang of robbers, almost everyone looks shifty. The film clearly wants you to keep guessing who’s double‑crossing whom, but it never gives you a reason to actually care. The premise is strong; the emotional investment just never turns up.
