Book: Pup Fiction: An epic journey with Gone Fishing by Ted the Dog
I first read Ted: A Pawtobiography about a year ago, so I was really pleased to discover that this year’s instalment is just as warm, funny and charming as the first.
In the first memoir, we followed Ted’s humble beginnings – from being abandoned to his daring attempts to escape a dog’s home. This second adventure shifts the focus to his time on Gone Fishing. The mystery of his missing briefcase is still very much unsolved, and that’s what takes centre stage here. Determined to crack the case, Ted talks Bob Mortimer into letting him join him and Paul Whitehouse for a Gone Fishing episode being filmed on a trip to France. There,
Ted sets off on a cross-country caper with a couple of trusted pals for backup, including his new housemate, Bo, who comes along because she’s fluent in French. Together, they chase down Vinnie, the dog Ted is convinced ran off with his briefcase.
What follows is a whole host of new friends made across the Channel, plus a much-improved bond with his housemate.
It’s a super quick, light-hearted read that I read in its entirety during a long weekend in Wales. It’s almost guaranteed to put a smile on your face.
