Film: A Haunting in Venice

This whodunit is a horror-suspense-thriller and by far the best of the trilogy. For the last film, we waited hours for anyone to die so Poirot could begin detecting. This time, we open with a dead daughter and Poirot is pulled out of his ordered retirement in Venice by his writer pal to investigate. She, needing a new story to write about, convinces him to attend a seance, and despite his scepticism, he does.

As the story unfolds, eerie events permeate the air, and suspicions of foul play arise. Thick, solid doors with enormous keys (try) keep secrets locked away, while the curtains dance in the breeze of open windows on this Halloween night. The atmosphere is tense, with people appearing out of nowhere, adding to the mystery and intrigue.

Such fun with the expected all-star international cast including Tina Fey and Michelle Yeoh alongside Kenneth Branagh.
