Film: Tuner

Billed as a crime thriller, Tuner (not Tuna, as I had it in my head) is about a pair of piano tuners. The senior, played by Dustin Hoffman, sadly had too little screen time, and the film instead centres on his mentee.

Niki has a condition that leaves him incapacitated by loud noise, but it comes with an uncanny gift for tuning pianos by ear and an unrivalled sense of hearing. Which is, of course, where the safe-cracking comes in.

I questioned much of the script, and the film was odd at times. The idea, though, was promising.
