Book: The Café With No Name by Robert Seethaler

Bought in Northumberland, read on the way to Berlin. Set in 1966, we get a glimpse of daily life in Vienna in what they're still calling the post-war period.

This goes to some darker places. Mental health, working conditions, survival. Mainly however, it is abut how community is built around a cafe. We meet the cast of regulars (much like The Little Coffee Shop of Kabul). The Vienna sixties couldn't be further from our swinging sixties.

I've realised the next novel I've started is also set in the 1960s. Also dark. But this one's an easy, fast read.
