Film - Nomadland

I didn’t see this at the cinema. Possible because it came out in Oscar season and other films were a priority. So I stuck it on for the return flight from Vancouver to see what the fuss was about.

Nomadland is billed as ‘surviving America’ and the film drifts along much like its lead character Fern (Frances McDormand) who decided on a nomadic life doing odd jobs after the loss of her husband. Fern meets some interesting characters - some of who I think were actual nomads - and makes friends along the way as she encounters more of the community. Other than that, there’s not much to write about, not taking away from the performances of course. Nomadland is mercifully short so kept my attention even on the small screen.
