Film: Champions

A light comedy about a basketball coach (Woody Harrelson) dreaming of the NBA but instead lands himself in community service. His alternative to jail (yes - jail) for shoving his senior coach is 90 days of coaching a team with ‘intellectual disabilities’ which seems the most bizarre term. However, it’s better than “re******” which the Coach knows is no longer used but needs to learn the acceptable language.

So that’s when we know this is a good guy, which is probably why he managed to punch well about his weight in the girlfriend department.

This is exactly the feel-good dream team comedy we need. No tension, just fun. We laugh, we cry and we play along with the scenario even though it goes pretty much where we expect.
