Film: Spider-Man: Brand New Day

One of my favourite superheroes, anonymous once again, Spider-Man can get on with the business of endlessly and single-handedly saving New York from its vast array of criminals. So far, so Spidey. Except he has spent 3 years missing his girlfriend, who, along with the rest of the world, no longer knows his real identity. She has moved on; he seemingly has not.

The city is being targeted by a mind-reading enemy, someone who can inhabit a body at will, again and again. But to what end, and who?

This is Spider-Man’s task, except this time he appears to be overworked and his powers become vulnerable.

A bit predictable, but the action was fairly constant and waiting to see which other superheroes are going to turn up kept me interested.

[Spoiler Alert: there is nowhere near enough of the red-ninjas despite them being in the trailer. I was looking forward to that]
