Food & coffee in Hong Kong - the best and the rest

Good for coffeeThe Mixing Room is worth climbing the steps for and Café Sausalito which reminded us of one of our great coffee experiences in Sausalito, San Francisco. Accro is the one coffee geeks (like my bf) seem to pay a pilgrimage too. Plus Fuel Espresso and Pacific Coffee seems to be the biggest chain if you can’t see anything else. After been shown to table, we didn’t enjoy the wait to get served in Elephant Café. In the end I had to go an interrupt a staff member who was cleaning up to give her my order. The coffee arrived cold and separately, like it had been sitting for a while. Also shown the red card is Zenon Café. Definitely not worth the trek up steps to pay HK$55 for a coffee and CRAZILY, 20% service charge!Good for food.Urban Bakery, School Food, Muji Café and of course the Intercontinental afternoon tea. That tea and the Dining Room experience in Langham Place is credited with getting me to drink tea. We came back with 3 tins of the buckwheat tea that they served with the and yes, we have already started drinking it at home. The Intercontinental served Marco Polo which I have yet to find.I would give Classified in Stanley a miss. Food is adequate, service good but they asked if we wanted water and I expected a jug of tap and they sold u a bottle of Blenheim, all the way from Oxfordshire England. It took every bit of my being to argue the point there must be water a little more local. That doesn’t cost HK$52. (My non-meat burger a $104)Chicken Curry doughnut from Panash Bakery tasted much better than it sounded and of one of my finds of the trip! @RickieWrites
