Film: Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse

I didn’t see Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse in 2018 - and, indeed, I never heard about it. It matters not. This is a nice slice of full-colour action adventure to escape into.

The Spiderman in this instalment is a young kid called Miles Morales with parents who have no idea why he is so distracted at school. Like most teenagers, he is finding his place in the world but also figuring out where his Spiderman persona fits in.

There are loads of characters and that’s before we go into the Spider-Verse, where Peter Parker hangs out alongside 100s of others. There are so many personalities that there is sure to be one for everyone to resonate with.

For comic fans of old, this is like the curled-up re-read pages coming to life. The ride is fast, funny, emotional and ultimately, joy.
