Film - Don't Look Up

Don’t Look Up takes to the extreme the recent, growing phenomena of the noisy minority seemingly unable to believe facts.

The one thing we’ve always been able to rely on is that if we provide facts, people have to take it as read. In Don’t Look Up, two astronomers embark on the media rounds to warn the world that a comet is hurtling towards Earth which will mean the end to mankind. No-one takes them seriously. The breakfast/daytime TV lot tell them to lighten up in a nothing can be that bad kind of way. 

It is meant to be a comedy and there a laughs but with the end of the world issue at stake, it’s quite hard to do that. It absolutely does hit the nail on the head for the real-life world-ending scenario of climate change. I love the title.
